Bobbi Sweater Size 3-6 Months

This cute Bobbi sweater is made using a simple dc stitch for three rows then a bobble row. It's quick and easy to work up. Then the arm cuffs and edging are made with a sc rib stitch.

This sweater pattern comes in sizes 0-3 months to 10 years and the full pattern is available to purchase on Etsy, Ravelry or lovecrafts.

Materials

480 metres of dk / weight 3 yarn

3 and 4 mm hooks I use this set from Amazon*

Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK

sc = single crochet (double crochet in UK)

dc = double crochet (treble crochet UK)

bs = Bobble stitch- (yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 stitches), four times, you should have 5 stitches on hook, yarn over and pull through all 5.

blo = back loop only (crochet into the back loop of the stitch)

ch = chain

inc = increase

slst = slip stitch

[ ] = these stitches should be completed into one stitch or the ch1

* * = in between should be repeated

Gauge Square

With 4mm hook

Row 1: Ch12, dc in 4th ch from hook and each chain across. (9) Turn

Rows 2-4: ch1, dc in base of ch1, dc 8. (9) Turn

Square should measure 2 inch wide by 2 inch tall.

If you're out with a 4mm hook try a 4.5mm hook.

If you have problems hitting the length this is not too important, as measurement will be given to follow.

Pattern notes

  • Working in the first stitch the ch1 or ch2 does not count as a stitch, so always ch1 or 2 and sc / dc in the first stitch.

  • On the bobble rows the ch1 corner counts as a stitch.

  • Work needs turning so you are working the wrong side facing, to do the bobble rows, then turning back to the right side afterwards.

  • The corner increase may vary in the amount of stitches, this is to get the right stitch count for the bobble row.

  • The rib edging can be made shorter by chaining less stitches, or longer by chaining more stitches.
