Christmas Baubles Free Crochet Pattern
These baubles are so quick and fun to make, I will be experimenting with some other colourways and making some purple and reds for my tree this year.
Materials
Polystyrene baubles like these they are 6cm in diameter
Small amounts of dk / weight 3 yarn in 3 colours
3.5mm crochet hook
Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK
sc = single crochet (double crochet in UK)
hdc = half double crochet (half treble crochet UK)
ch = chain
slst = slip stitch
* * = repeat between
[ ] = in the same stitch
Make two for each bauble
Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 12 hdc into the circle, slst to the first and pull tight. (12)
Round 2: ch1, *sc between hdc, ch1* repeat to end, slst to first. (12 sc & 12 ch1)
Round 3: ch1, [2 hdc] in each ch1 space, slst to first. (24)
Round 4: ch1, *sc 2, hdc in the sc two rows below* repeat to end, slst to first. (36)
Round 5: ch1, *sc, ch1, skip 1* repeat to end, slst to first. (18 sc & 18 ch1)
Round 6: ch1, *sc, ch1, skip 1* repeat to end, slst to first. (18 sc & 18 ch1)
Round 7: ch1, *sc, ch1, skip 1* repeat to end, slst to first. (18 sc & 18 ch1)
Fasten off with a long end for sewing. Sew the two sides around the Polystyrene bauble.
