Squares

Rnd1 Ch4, slst to first to form a ring, ch3, 2 dc, ch2 *3 dc, ch2* three times, slst to first.

Fasten off.

Rnd2 join white yarn into any corner, ch3, 2 dc, ch2, 3 dc, *3 dc, ch2, 3 dc* in each ch2 space, slst to first.

Rnd3 ch1, sc in base of ch1, sc 2, *2 sc, ch2, 2 sc* in corner, sc 6, *2 sc, ch2, 2 sc* in corner, sc 6, *2 sc, ch2, 2 sc* in corner, sc 6, *2 sc, ch2, 2 sc* in corner, sc 3, slst to first. Fasten off for first square only.

Each square should measure approximately 2.5 inches.

When you have the first square made fasten off. Then the second one there can be joined by slip stitching using the back loops only.

These are the back loops (the back loops are the ones that are nearest the wrong side of the square).

Place the two squares you are joining then fold so the backs are on the outside.

Join yarn in the center of the corner and ch1, slst in the back loop of the bottom and back loop of the top stitch.

Slst loosely across to the center of the next corner, in the back loops only, not the whole stitch.

Continue with the squares until you have a strip of the required amount.
