Fasten off leaving a long end to sew the body and finish stuffing.

Pin the head in place and sew when  happy with position, add more stuffing before closing up to ensure firm joining of head to body.

Mane

Mane cut lots of 4 inch strands of brown yarn, split the strands into 3 if you can (this gives it a more fluffy look) If you can not do this just use the strands as they are.

Fold a strand of yarn in half and pull the center part way through a stitch so its about an inch through forming a loop, then pull the tail ends of yarn through the loop and tighten.

Do the mane 4 stitches across the front of the head and work all the way down the back reducing to 3 stitches wide.

When finished trim mane so it’s around 3cm long.

Sew nose with black yarn in a triangle shape in between the eyes, on the third row down of brown 3 stitches wide and 3 stitches long.

Tail

Cut 2 strands of yarn in lighter brown around 12 inches, then insert a 3mm hook through 2 stitches where you want the tail to be.

Pull through yarn and ch6, fasten off and sew in the ends.

Cut 5, 6 inch strands of brown yarn that’s split if you can.

Fold the strands of yarn in half and pull the center part way through the end of the tail,  so its about an inch through forming a loop, then pull the tail ends of yarn through the loop and tighten, snip the ends to around 3cm for the tassel.

Spots

Using dark brown yarn, sew random spots one and two stitches wide with around three stitches for each, and also do them in different directions. Sew them on arms, legs, belly and back.
