Free Baby Panda Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

This panda is easy to make with minimal sewing as the arms and legs are crochet on, so only the head, ears and eyes to sew. Perfect if you don’t like sewing.

Panda will measure approximately 11 inches from head to toe when finished (8 inches when sat)

Written in US terms with abbreviations for UK

sc=single crochet (double crochet in UK)

inc=increase by crocheting two in next stitch

dec=decrease by crocheting next two stitches together

ch=chain

slst=slip stitch

Materials 

30g Dk black yarn for main colour (I used Patons Fab black denim from LoveCrafts)

20g white yarn

2mm hook I use this set from Amazon*

8mm Safety eyes or black yarn for sewn on eyes

Polyester toy stuffing

Needle 

Stitch marker

All parts are made going round in a spiral, attaching arms and legs as we go to make less sewing.


Eye patches


Make two using black

Rnd1 6 sc in a magic circle. (6)

Rnd2 *inc* x 6. (12)

Rnd3 *sc 1, inc* x 3, leaving rest unworked. (15)

Fasten off with a slst, leaving a long end for sewing, stretch out into an oval shape.


Head

Start in white

Put safety eyes through the centre starting hole of the eye patch and attach to head between rounds 10 and 11, around 10 stitches apart. Sew the eye patches round the edges to keep in place.

Start to stuff and continue throughout

Sew a nose with black yarn 5 stitches wide and 3 stitches down.

Pin ears on the 5th row away from eye patch 11 stitches apart  and sew in place down the front then down the back of the ears.

Fasten off leaving a long end to sew the body to head and finish stuffing.

Pin the head in place and sew when  happy with position, add more stuffing before closing up to ensure firm joining of head to body.
