Free Pumpkins Crochet Patterns

Materials

dk, weight 3 yarn in orange and a small amount of green or brown for the stalk

3mm hook I use this set from Amazon*

or

Chunky weight or 2 strand dk yarn held together

5.5mm hook

Written in US terms with abbreviations for UK


sc=single crochet (double crochet UK)

hdc=half double crochet (half treble crochet UK)

dc=double crochet (treble crochet UK)

fpdc=double crochet (front post treble crochet UK)

slst=slip stitch
blo=back loops only

flo=front loops only

bs= Bobble Stitch: Yarn over, insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, (yarn over, insert hook into the same stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop) x 2, yarn over, pull through all 7 loops on hook.


Alpine Pumpkin

Starting with green

Round 1: 6 sc in mc. (6)

Round 2: (in blo) sc all. (6)

Round 3-5: sc all. (6)

Round 6: (in blo) 2 dc in each. (12)

Change to orange

Round 7: (in blo) 2 dc in all. (24)

Round 8: dc and fpdc in each stitch. (48)

Round 9: *fpdc, dc* repeat to end. (48)

Round 10: *dc, fpdc* repeat to end. (48)

Round 11: *fpdc, dc* repeat to end. (48)

Round 12: *dc, fpdc* repeat to end. (48)

Round 13: *fpdc, dc* repeat to end. (48)

Round 14: *dc, fpdc* repeat to end. (48)

Round 15: *fpdc, dc* repeat to end. (48)

Round 16: *dc, fpdc* repeat to end. (48)

Round 17: *dc, fpdc* repeat to end. (48)

Round 18: fpdc and dc 2 together x 24. (24) start front post dc (pull through 2 loops and leave 2 loops on the hook) then insert hook into next stitch and dc

Round 19: fpdc 2 together x 12. (12)

 

Fasten off with a long end, stuff and sew up the opening.

If you want to add vines, join yarn to the side of stalk and *ch15, 2 sc in second ch from hook and each ch to end, slst back to the stalk* slst 4 stitches and repeat. 

Rib Pumpkin

Small / medium / large

Row 1: ch19 / 25 / 31, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across. (18 / 24 / 30)

Row 2: ch1, hdc all in blo. (18 / 24 / 30) Turn

Row 3: ch1, sc all in flo. (18 / 24 / 30)  Turn

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until 28 / 32 / 36 rows have been worked.

Stalk

With green or brown

Round 1: 6 sc in mc. (6)

Round 2-4: sc all. (6)

Round 5: *sc, ch3, sc in base of ch3, sc* in each stitch, slst to the first. 

Fasten off .

Each side has a different texture so you can have it which way you like, I like it best with the rib side showing.

Fold in half and sew from the inside, turn the right way round, weave yarn all the way round the bottom of the pumpkin and pull tight and sew to secure.

Stuff and weave yarn around the top, pull tight and sew to secure.

Bobble Pumpkin

Small / medium / large

Row 1: ch20 / 26 / 32, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across. (19 / 25 / 31)

Row 2: ch1, slst 3, sc 13 / 19 / 25 in flo, slst 3. (19 / 25 / 31) Turn

Row 3: ch1, slst 3, sc 13 / 19 / 25 in blo, slst 3. (18 / 24 / 30)  Turn

Row 4: ch1, slst 3, sc, *bs, sc* x 6 / 9 / 12, slst 3. Turn

Row 5: ch1, slst 3, sc 13 / 19 / 25, slst 3. Turn

Repeat rows 2 to 5, 9 / 12 / 15 more times.

Stalk

With green or brown

Round 1: 6 sc in mc. (6)

Round 2-4: sc all. (6)

Fasten off .

Fold in half and sew from the inside, turn the right way round, weave yarn all the way round the bottom of the pumpkin and pull tight and sew to secure.

Stuff and weave yarn around the top, pull tight and sew to secure.
