Whale Applique

Using a 3mm hook and blue dk / weight 3 yarn

Round 1: in a magic circle, ch2, 12 dc into the circle, pull tight, slst to first. (12)

Round 2: ch2, [2 dc] in the next 9, ch8, slst in the second ch, sc 1, hdc 1, sc 1, slst 1, ch6, slst in the second ch, sc 1, hdc 1, sc 1, slst 1, [2 sc] in the next chain, [2 hdc] in the next

Change to white (finsh the last hdc with white)

Hdc in the same as last, [4 hdc] in the side of dc, [2 hdc] in the next 2, [2hdc, 1 dc] in the last, slst to first. Fasten off.


2 sc here 2 hdc here, then 1 hdc in white 4 hdc here

Fin

ch6, slst in the second ch, sc 1, hdc 1, sc 1, slst 1.

Fasten off.

Cut 4, 4 inch strands of yarn. Fold the strands of yarn in half and pull the center part way through the top of the head, so it's about an inch through forming a loop, then pull the tail ends of yarn through the loop and tighten, snip ends to around 1.5cm.

Separate strands for a fluffy look (I did this by running my scissors through each strand)

Eye

Using a 2mm hook with black embroidery thread or 4ply yarn

Round 1: make a magic circle, ch1 6 sc into the circle, pull tight slst to the first.

Fasten off with a long end, sew a white line.
