Pattern Notes

This pattern starts with making a granny square for the front and one for the back. Then shaping at the top and making the sides. Then they will be crocheted together so there is no sewing.

  • The ch1 and 2 do not count as a stitch.

  • The ch3 counts as a dc.

  • Follow the square for the size you are making until you reach to continue for the individual size.

  • The edging is made using a 3mm hook.

  • My example pictures are a size 0-3 months.

  • It could be made with a different design on the front and back, for a reversible effect.

  • Follow the extra large mod details.

  • For the mickey mouse ears, I did 2 circles of 4 rounds from the square instructions.

Single crochet slst join

I used this join method to join the shoulders and sides

I used this method which can be done in the same colour for an almost invisible join or in a contrasting colour for a zip like effect. There is a great tutorial here if you haven’t done it this way before https://bellacococrochet.com/flat-double-crochet-join/ please note that the tutorial is in UK terms and this pattern is US terms.

Place the front and back shoulder together, ch1, sc in the same, *remove hook, insert hook into the the opposite shoulder, insert hook back into the loop and slst, sc at the next stitch of the first shoulder* repeat until you reach the end, repeat for the next shoulder. Then follow the same method to join the sides. Fasten off and sew the ends.
