Free Triceratops Lovey Pattern

Materials 

70g dark colour dk / light worsted yarn

30g light colour dk / light worsted yarn

2.5mm hook for triceratops

4mm hook for blanket I use this set from Amazon*

Black embroidery thread for eyes

Polyester stuffing

Needle 


Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK

sc=single crochet (double crochet in UK)

dc=double crochet (treble crochet UK)

hdc=half double crochet (half treble crochet UK)

dec=decrease sc (sc 2 stitches together) (double crochet 2 stitches together UK)

inc=increase (2sc in next stitch) (2dc in next stitch UK)

slst= slip stitch

Bs=Bobble stitch (insert hook into next stitch, yarn over pull up a loop, yarn over pull through 2 stitches) x 4 you should have 5 stitches on hook yarn over and pull through all 5.

*Ch3 counts as dc*

*Ch2 counts as hdc*

Blanket

Start in dinosaur colour

Round 1: ch4, slst to first to form a loop, ch3, 11 dc in loop, slst into top of ch3. (12)

Round 2: ch3, dc in same, 2 dc in each st, slst in top of ch3. (24)

Round 3: ch3, dc in same, 1 dc in next, *2 dc in next, 1 dc in next* repeat to end, slst in top of ch3. (36) 

Change to darker yarn

Round 4: Join in yarn and ch3, dc in same, ch2, 2 dc in next (first corner), *1 hdc in each of the next 2, 1 sc in each of the next 3, 1 hdc in each of the next 2, 2 dc in the next, ch2, 2 dc in the next (corner), 1 hdc in each of the next 2, 1 sc in each of the next 3, 1 hdc in each of the next 2* repeat twice more. Slst into top of ch3, then slst to ch2 space. (44 + 4 ch2 spaces)

Row 2: ch1, hdc in base of ch1, hdc 5, 3 hdc in next, *hdc 7, 3 hdc in next* repeat 4 more times, hdc 6. (65) Turn work

Row 3: ch1, hdc in base of ch1, hdc 6, 3 hdc in next, * hdc 9, 3 hdc in next, repeat 4 more times , hdc 7. (77) turn work

Row 4: ch1, hdc in base of ch1, hdc 7, 3 hdc in next, * hdc 11, 3 hdc in next, repeat 4 more times , hdc 8. (89) turn work

Change colour with the back of the head facing.

Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing onto the head.

Spot for head

Using darker colour make one.

Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing to the centre back of the head.
