Cherry Appliques
These little appliques are perfect for sewing onto baby clothing and blankets.
Materials
Small amounts of red and green Dk / weight 3 yarn
3mm crochet hook I use this set from Amazon*
Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK
sc = single crochet (double crochet in UK)
hdc = half double crochet (half treble crochet in UK)
dc = double crochet (treble crochet in UK)
ch = chain
slst = slip stitch
Large Cherries
Using red, make two
Round 1: 12 dc into a magic circle.
Stalk / leaves
Using green
ch14, slst in the second chain from hook, sc 1. hdc 1. 2 dc in the next, hdc 1, sc 1, slst in the next, ch10 slst to first cherry, slst back up the chain, ch10, slst to second cherry, slst back up the chain, sc 1, hdc 1, 2 dc in the next, hdc 1, sc 1, slst in the last.
Working along the other side of the chain
ch1, slst in the same, sc 1, hdc 1, 2 dc in the next, hdc 1, sc 1, slst to between the stalks, sc 1, hdc 1, 2 dc in the next, hdc 1, sc 1, slst in the last.
Fasten off
