Daisy Dream Catcher

This dream catcher is a simple project to make as a gift or decorate your home or garden. It’s great for using up some stash too!

MATERIALS

  • DK /  weight 3 yarn. I used my scraps of yarn.

  • 4mm crochet hook or any hook preferred for your choice of yarn. 

  • Scissors and Needle

  • 12 Beads

  • 7” diameter wooden hoop

WRITTEN IN ENGLISH US CROCHET TERMS WITH ABBREVIATIONS FOR UK

CH = Chain. Yarn over and pull through the loop on the hook.

SC = Single Crochet. Insert hook into the stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through both loops on the hook.

HDC = Half Double Crochet.  Yarn over insert hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on the hook.

DC = Double Crochet. Yarn over insert hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2, yarn over, pull through the last 2 loops on the hook.

[ ] = in the same stitch. (eg: [2 sc] in the next means you will make 2 sc in the next stitch).

= repeat between. This is to indicate a set of stitches that you’ll need to repeat the specified number of times.

NOTES

*Fasten off and join new colour at the beginning of each row, so that you are working the right side facing each row.

*The ch1 at the beginning of each row does not count as a stitch.

Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 12 hdc, slst to the first. (12)

Round 2: [ch3, dc in the first, ch1, [2 dc, ch1] in each stitch, slst to the first ch1 space. (24)

Round 3: [ch3, 2 dc] in the first, [3 dc] in each ch1 space, slst to the first. (36)

Round 4: ch1, sc 1, [sc, ch3, sc] in the next, sc 1 x 12, slst to the first, slst to the first ch3 space.

Round 5: ch3, [2 dc, ch2, 2 dc] in the ch3 space, ch2 x 12, slst to the first ch2 space.

Round 6: ch1, *[sc, ch3, sc] in each ch2 space x 24, slst to the first ch2 space.

Round 7: ch1, [sc, ch3, sc] in each ch2 space, slst to the first, ch24, fold over the wooden hoop, slst to last stitch.

Fasten off with a long end, thread through each ch3 space and the wooden hoop.

TASSEL

Cut 8 × 12” strands of yarn for the tassel. Cut 2 × 12” strands to tie.

Fold the 8 strands in half, then using a 12” strand of yarn, tie the centre of the strands to secure. Keep this yarn above for threading beads and sewing to the bottom of the wind spinner

Using a 12” strand of yarn tie approx 2 cm below the top around all strands and secure. Trim tassels so they are level.

FINISHING

Thread 4 beads up the tassel. Sew the tassel at the end.
