Fleur Headband

This cute headband comes in size’s Newborn - 3 years. It can be made colourful like mine or just in one colour!

Materials

A small amount of dk / weight 3 yarn

4 mm hook I use this set from Amazon*

Needle 

Scissors 

Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK

sc = single crochet (double crochet in UK)

dc = double crochet (treble crochet UK)

ch = chain

slst = slip stitch

[ ] = in the same space

* * = repeat between

Gauge

With 4mm hook

Row 1: Ch12, dc in 4th ch from hook and each chain across. (9) Turn

Row 2-4: ch1, dc in the same, dc 8. (9) Turn

Square should measure 5 x 5cm / 2“ x 2”.

The pattern works in multiples of 3 so if you want the headband smaller minus in multiples of 3. If you want larger add in multiples of 3 until you get your required size.

These are the approximate measurements the finished headband should be when slightly stretched.

Newborn 12” 

0-3 Months 14” 

3-6 Months 15” 

6-12 Months 16”

1-3 Years 17“

Headband

ch 51 / 57 / 60 / 63 / 66 / 69 slst to first to form a circle.

Round 1: ch1, sc in the same, sc in each chain to the end, slst to first.

Round 2: ch1, sc and 2 dc in the same, skip 2, *[sc, 2 dc] in the next, skip 2* repeat to the end, slst to first.

Round 3: ch1, sc in the same, sc in each stitch to the end, slst to first.

Fasten off.

Flower

Round 1: ch3, hdc, *ch1, hdc* x 7 into a magic circle, slst to first.

Round 2: ch1, *[3 dc] in the ch1 space, slst to the next* repeat to the end, slst to first.

Fasten off.

Sew the flower onto the headband.
