Free Baby Giraffe Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

This giraffe is fairly easy to make, the legs and arms are crochet on, so the only sewing is the spots, horns and ears. Perfect if you don’t like sewing.

Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK 

sc=single crochet (double crochet UK)

inc=increase by crocheting two in the next stitch

dec=decrease by crocheting two stitches together

blo=back loop only

ch=chain

mc=magic circle

Materials

40g Dk yellow yarn for main colour

20g brown yarn

10g cream or beige yarn

2mm hook I use this set from Amazon*

8mm Safety eyes or black yarn for sewn on eyes

Polyester toy stuffing

Needle 

Stitch marker

All parts are made going round in a spiral. The arms and legs will be crochet on as you go to make less sewing.

Giraffe will measure approximately 12 inches from head to toe when finished (9 inches when sat)


Head

Start in cream or beige

Make two starting with brown

Fasten off and stuff, leaving a long end for sewing.

Fold the ears at the bottom and sew with a few stitches.

Then pin the horns in place and sew when happy, pin and sew the ears.

Fasten off and finish stuffing.

Pin the head in place and sew when  happy with position, adding more stuffing before closing up to ensure firm.

Spots


With brown make eleven

Rnd1 6 sc in magic circle. (6)
Rnd2 *inc* six times. (12)

Sew the spots on randomly.

Tail 

Cut 2 strands of yarn in yellow around 12 inches, then insert a 3mm hook through 2 stitches where you want the tail to be.


Pull through yarn and chain 6, fasten off.
