Ladies Love my Granny Pullover

This Pullover is worked from the top down in one piece, using the granny stitch. It's quick and easy to work up and is great for using up scrap yarn.

Size Large

Finished Chest 44”

Shoulder to cuff 24”

Shoulder to hem 23”

Armhole depth 8.5”

The size guide for lengths is just a guide, as we are all different it’s always best to measure the individual you are making for, to get the perfect fit (see examples below). More yarn may be needed if you make it longer than suggested.

The full written pattern with more sizes can be found here

Materials

1550 meters of dk / weight 3 yarn (I used Elements Panoramic DK shade 003 Ocean, 300 metres per 100g 60% Acrylic 40% Cotton)

3.5 and 4 mm crochet hooks

Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK

sc = single crochet (double crochet UK)

dc = double crochet (treble crochet UK)

ch = chain

dec = decrease (crochet two stitches together)

slst = slip stitch

corner = (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc in the same) (2 treble crochet, ch2, 2 treble crochet UK)

cluster = 3 dc (double crochet) (3 treble crochet UK)

[ ] = in the same stitch stitch

* * = repeat between

Gauge

With a 4mm hook

18 dc and 8 rows = 4” x 4”

6 clusters = 4”

Pattern Notes

The ch1 does not count as a stitch.

  • The ch3 counts as the first dc.

  • The edging is the same for all sizes and can be found in this section.

  • If you would like to decrease the sleeves, crochet two clusters together under the arm (where it's not noticeable), by dc in first cluster space, do part dc in first cluster and finish it in second cluster space (like dc two together), dc in second cluster space.

  • The ribbed bottom edging and cuffs measure approx 2”. But can be made shorter or longer with less or more chains at the beginning.
