Photos and pattern guide

This pattern starts with making a sunflower granny square for the front and back. Then shaping the shoulders and sides and joining at the shoulders and sides with a continuous join and adding a rib edging.

  • The ch1 and 2 do not count as a stitch.

  • The ch3 counts as a dc.

  • Follow the sunflower square for the size you are making until you reach to continue for individual size, then follow the instructions for the size you are making.

  • The edging is made using a 3.5mm hook.

  • My example pictures are a size 3-6 months.

  • If using the same colour for the sleeves, when finishing a round, slst to the first then slst to between the next clusters to start the next round. If changing colour, start between clusters.

  • If you want to make it fit a bigger chest size than listed you could add an extra round to the square, before shaping or add an extra row to each side.

  • If you want the length longer add as many rows of granny stitch to the bottom as you desire before doing the ribbed edging.

  • The armholes and sleeves are meant to be loose, but if you want the armholes and sleeves smaller, join more clusters up the side, this will make the armhole smaller and also the sleeve.

  • The length measurements are a guide only, it is always best to measure who you are making it for to get the perfect fit.
