Tutti Fruiti Appliques
These crochet fruit appliques are suitable for baby clothing, blankets or anything else you wish to use them on.
MATERIALS
Small amounts Dk / weight 3 yarn I used Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze DK
4mm crochet hook I use this set from Amazon*

sc = single crochet (double crochet UK)
hdc = half double crochet (half treble crochet UK)
dc = double crochet (treble crochet UK)
tr = treble crochet (double treble UK)
ch = chain
slst = slip stitch
[ ] = in the same stitch
* * = repeat between
sps = puff stitch (insert hook into stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, insert hook into same stitch, pull up a loop, (4 loops on hook) yarn over pull through 4 loops.
ps = puff stitch (insert hook into stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, insert hook into same stitch, pull up a loopx 2, (6 loops on hook) yarn over pull through 6 loops
PATTERN NOTES
The ch1 / ch2 at the beginning of a row / round is not counted as a stitch.
Sew the appliques onto your projects with white cotton and small stitches to make them less noticeable.
SMALL STRAWBERRY
Using red
Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 4 dc, 4 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 4 hdc, 4 dc, ch2, slst into the circle. (19) Fasten off.
STALK
Using green
Make a magic circle, ch3, slst in the 2nd ch from hook, slst 1, slst into the circle x 3,ch2, slst in the 2nd ch from hook, slst into the circle x 2. Fasten off with a long end for sewing.
ASSEMBLY
Sew some seeds using white. Sew the stalk at the top of the strawberry sewing the 3 longer chains at the top and the two shorter chains at the bottom.
LARGE STRAWBERRY
Using red
Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 4 dc, 4 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 4 hdc, 4 dc, ch2, slst into the circle. (19)
Round 2: [2 hdc] in the ch2 from previous round, [2 hdc] in the next 2, hdc 6, [3 dc] in the next, hdc 6, [2 hdc] in the next 3, slst to the first. (27) Fasten off.
STALK
Using green
Make a magic circle, ch5, slst in the 2nd ch from hook, slst 3, slst into the circle x 3,ch3, slst in the 2nd ch from hook, slst 1, slst into the circle x 2. Fasten off with a long end for sewing.
ASSEMBLY
Sew some seeds using white. Sew the stalk at the top of the strawberry sewing the 3 longer chains at the top and the two shorter chains at the bottom.
SMALL APPLE
Using light green
Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 12 dc, slst to the first. (12)
Round 2: ch2, [2 dc] in each stitch, ch2, slst to the base of the stitch just worked. (24)
Fasten off.
STALK
Join brown at the centre top, [ch3, slst in the 2nd chain, slst 1, slst] in the same stitch. Fasten off.
LEAF
Using dark green
Ch5, sc in 2nd chain, [2 hdc] in the next 2, [sc, slst] in the last. Fasten off. Sew the leaf at the side of the stalk.
LARGE APPLE
Using light green
Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 12 dc, slst to the first. (12)
Round 2: ch2, [2 hdc] in each stitch, slst to the first. (24)
Round 3: ch2, dc 1, [2 dc] in the next, *hdc 1, [2 hdc] in the next* x 10, dc 1, [2 dc, ch2, slst] in the last. slst to the first. (36)
Fasten off.
STALK
Join brown at the centre top, [ch5, sc in the 2nd chain, sc 3, slst] in the same stitch. Fasten off.
LEAF
Using dark green
Ch6, sc in 2nd chain, [2 hdc] in the next 3, sc in the last, ch2, slst in the 2nd chain, working along the other side of the chain [2 hdc] in the next 3, sc in the last. Fasten off. Sew the leaf at the side of the stalk.
SMALL ORANGE
Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 12 dc, slst to the first. (12)
Round 2: ch2, [2 dc] in each stitch, slst to the first. (24) Fasten off.
STALK
Join brown at the centre top, [ch3, slst in the 2nd chain, slst 1, slst] in the same stitch. Fasten off.
LEAF
Using dark green
Ch5, sc in 2nd chain, [2 hdc] in the next 2, [sc, slst] in the last. Fasten off. Sew the leaf at the side of the stalk.
LARGE ORANGE
Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 12 dc, slst to the first. (12)
Round 2: ch2, [2 hdc] in each stitch, slst to the first. (24)
Round 3: ch2, hdc 1, [2 hdc] in the next x 12. Ch2, slst to the base of last stitch. (36) Fasten off.
STALK
Join brown at the centre top, [ch5, sc in the 2nd chain, sc 3, slst] in the same stitch. Fasten off.
LEAF
Using dark green
Ch6, sc in 2nd chain, [2 hdc] in the next 3, sc in the last, ch2, slst in the 2nd chain, working along the other side of the chain [2 hdc] in the next 3, sc in the last. Fasten off. Sew the leaf at the side of the stalk.
SMALL LEMON
Using Yellow
Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 12 dc, slst to the first. (12)
Round 2: ch2, [dc, tr, dc] in the first, hdc 1, [2 hdc] in the next x 2, hdc 1, [dc, tr, dc] in the next, hdc 1, [2 hdc] in the next x 2, hdc 1, slst to the first. (20) Fasten off.
STALK
Join brown at the centre top, [ch3, slst in the 2nd chain, slst 1, slst] in the same stitch. Fasten off.
LEAF
Using dark green
Ch5, sc in 2nd chain, [2 hdc] in the next 2, [sc, slst] in the last. Fasten off. Sew the leaf at the side of the stalk.
LARGE LEMON
Using Yellow

Ch6, sc in 2nd chain, [2 hdc] in the next 3, sc in the last, ch2, slst in the 2nd chain, working along the other side of the chain [2 hdc] in the next 3, sc in the last. Fasten off. Sew the leaf at the side of the stalk.
SMALL PEAR
Using Light Green
Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 12 dc, slst to the first. (12)
Round 2: ch6, sc in 2nd chain from hook, hdc 4, now working the circle, hdc 1, [2 hdc] in the next x 6, hdc 1, hdc 4 up the other side of the chain, sc in the last, slst to the first. (29) Fasten off.
STALK
Join brown at the centre top, [ch3, slst in the 2nd chain, slst 1, slst] in the same stitch. Fasten off.
LEAF
Using dark green
Ch5, sc in 2nd chain, [2 hdc] in the next 2, [sc, slst] in the last. Fasten off. Sew the leaf at the side of the stalk.
LARGE PEAR
Using light Green
Round 1: make a magic circle, ch2, 12 dc, slst to the first. (12)
Round 2: ch2, [2 hdc] in each stitch, slst to the first. (24)
Round 3: ch7, sc in 2nd chain from hook, hdc 5, now working the circle, hdc 1, [2 hdc] in the next x 12, hdc 5 up the other side of the chain, sc in the last, slst to the first. (48)
Round 4: ch1, slst each stitch, slst to the first with brown, ch4, slst in the 2nd chain from hook, slst 3, slst to first stitch..
Fasten off.
STALK
Join brown at the centre top, [ch5, sc in the 2nd chain, sc 3, slst] in the same stitch. Fasten off.
LEAF
Using dark green
Ch6, sc in 2nd chain, [2 hdc] in the next 3, sc in the last, ch2, slst in the 2nd chain, working along the other side of the chain [2 hdc] in the next 3, sc in the last. Fasten off. Sew the leaf at the side of the stalk.
SMALL BANANA
Using Yellow
Row 1: Ch13, sc in the 2nd chain from hook, hdc 1, [2 hdc] in the next, [2 dc] in the next, dc 4, [2 dc] in the next, [2 hdc] in the next, hdc 1, sc in the last, change to brown, ch1, slst in the second chain, slst in the last. Fasten off.
LARGE BANANA
Using Yellow
Row 1: Ch17, sc in the 2nd chain from hook, hdc 1, [2 hdc] in the next, [2 dc] in the next 2, tr 6, [2 dc] in the next 2, [2 hdc] in the next, hdc 1, sc in the last, change to brown, ch2, slst in the second chain, slst 1, slst in the last,. Fasten off.

Using purple
Row 1: Ch2, [sps, ch1, sc] in the 2nd chain from hook. (3) Turn
Row 2: ch1, slst 3. (3) Turn
Row 3: ch1, [sps, ch1, sc] in each stitch. (9) Turn
