Size 0-3 months 16 inch chest 100 g yarn
Size 3-6 months 18 inch chest 120 g yarn
Size 6-12 months 20 inch chest 160 g yarn

dk / light worsted / 8 ply / weight 3 yarn
4 mm hook
5 x 12 - 15 mm buttons

For the rainbow version which was 0-3 months, after using white until divide for armholes, I did 4 rows pink, 4 rows peach, 4 rows lemon, 2 rows mint, 2 rows blue, 2 rows lilac, then 2 rows white edging.
