Little Monsters Blanket
This cute monster theme blanket is perfect for babies and toddlers. The squares are all started the same by making a circle with the monster colour, then changed to a main colour to square it off. The pattern features 16 different monsters. I have named each monster with a fun name, which I thought suited them! The details of each monster is made and sewn on. The squares are joined using the zig zag slst. The blanket is edged with moss stitch using each of the monster colours.
SKILL LEVEL
Intermediate
MATERIALS
Aran / weight 4 yarn I used Hobbii Daily Stitch XL Aran (200 metres per 100g) 6 x Cold Grey (09) for the main colour. For the eyes 1 x White (01) and 1 x Black (11).
Then the following monster colours, which will be also used for the edging.
MONSTER COLOURS
1 x Sky Blue (12)
1 x Blue (13)
1 x Turquoise (15)
1 x Mint (17)
1 x Pastel Yellow (22)
1 x Pastel Pink (30)
1 x Bubblegum Pink (31)
1 x Lilac (32)
5 mm crochet hook
Needle
Scissors
If using different colours or yarn I used approx 20 metres for each circle part and the animal features, 70 metres for the main colour. Total 90 metres per square.
FINISHED SIZE
Each square measures approx 10” (these could be made with one or two rounds less). The finished blanket with edging is 44” wide x 44” long. If you want a smaller blanket you could make 3 squares wide x 4 long or 3 wide x 3 long. Or to make it bigger you could add more squares.
